Hello! Welcome to the First Baptist Church of Frederick. We are really excited about what God is doing at our church, and we hope some of that comes through. You can find a lot of information about our church on this site, but if you really want to see what God is doing at First Baptist Church, you need to come check it out for yourself. Talk to some of our people and let them tell you about their lives since they began following Jesus.
We want to make a positive contribution to the quality of life in our community. Frederick County today is very similar to the Montgomery County in which I was raised: growing population, long commutes, lots of construction, overcrowded schools, tons of excitement. I love it!
More than anything, Frederick County is about people–lots and lots of people, and more coming every day. People who live hectic lives in which God often gets squeezed out. People who grew up attending church and getting bored out of their brains.
Well, life in Christ is anything but boring–it’s the most exciting, most satisfying thing a person can experience, and I want everybody to experience it! I believe God has called me to lead a church that is exciting and fun and, more than anything, one that connects people with God through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
If you are looking for a perfect church, you won’t find it at First Baptist. But if you are looking for a church that is full of imperfect people trying to reach their full potential in Christ, we just might be the place for you. We haven’t arrived yet, but I think we’re headed in the right direction, and we’re having a blast along the way.
