Children’s Ministry Online

Beginning March 22, 2020, we will post the Gospel Project for Kids lesson, activity page, and worship songs on our Facebook page, which can be accessed by clicking on https://www.facebook.com/FirstFrederick/ Please be patient as we try to move to this format. We hope that you can join your child and maybe learn something new! Please continue to be a calm presence for your child during this time of uncertainty. Pray together as a family and talk to your child about what they are thinking about during this time.

Blessings,
Rachel Pyles and the Children’s Ministries Team

Mission Friends Program:  Our Missions Friends program for kids age 3 years old to 5th grade. This program runs on Wednesday nights from 7pm to 8pm. Your child will get the opportunity to learn about missionaries from around the globe and participate in missions projects. Some mission projects that they will participate in will be Operation Christmas Child, collecting supplies for our service men and women, making cards and gifts for senior adults who can not leave their homes, collecting food for the food bank, and collecting clothing or blankets for those in need. They will also do a little bit of cooking and play games. This is a church event and runs the entire school year. We do not meet when FCPS schools are closed. IT IS FREE! If you would like to have your child participate please sign them up on Sunday mornings at the Light House.

While your child is in Mission Friends we will have a group discussion, led by Rachel Pyles, just for parents. What does that mean? This will be a group where we will discuss specific subjects related to raising young children. You will walk away with ideas and goals for your child at home that dovetails to what they are learning at Little Lights or at any school they attend. We will be talking about effective playtime and learning moments at home and talk about fun and age appropriate activities to do with your child at home. We will share ideas, share free events in our community, and strive to be a support to one another as we face the fun adventure of raising compassionate and kind children. If you are interested in this group please respond to this email and let me know that you will be attending.

I hope I see many of you on Wednesday evenings as we strive to lay foundations of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
